Do natural rugs shed?
Jute and wool can shed a few loose fibres at first. It eases after the first weeks of regular vacuuming.
Are jute rugs soft underfoot?
Jute is firmer than wool, with a pleasant texture rather than a plush one. For softness under seating, choose a wool or wool blend rug.
How do I care for a natural fibre rug?
Vacuum regularly without a beater bar, blot spills straight away and avoid soaking. Rotate the rug now and then so it wears evenly.
Do the rugs need an underlay?
On hard floors, a thin non slip underlay keeps a flat woven rug in place and protects the backing.
