Size Guide
Every size we list is in centimetres, width first, then length or drop. A few minutes with a tape measure is the surest way to choose. If your size falls between two of ours, write to us at support@arkaimhome.com and we will help you choose.
Bedding
UK mattress sizes
Our sheet sets name the mattress they fit. As a guide, UK mattresses usually measure:

Linen Bedding Sheet Sets (4 pieces)
A flat sheet, a fitted sheet and two pillowcases, sized by mattress: Single 90 x 190cm, Double 135 x 190cm and King 150 x 200cm. The Single set comes with one pillowcase.
Linen Flat Sheets with 2 Pillowcases
Flat sheets come in 120 x 200, 155 x 200, 180 x 220, 200 x 230, 230 x 260, 260 x 280 and 260 x 300cm. For a neat tuck on both sides, choose a sheet at least as wide as your mattress plus twice its depth plus about 30cm. For a mattress around 25cm deep, that means:

Duvet covers
Choose a cover by the size of your duvet, not your bed. Lay the duvet flat and measure it first. UK duvets usually measure Single 135 x 200cm, Double 200 x 200cm, King 225 x 220cm and Super King 260 x 220cm.
Our Linen Duvet Covers come in 150 x 200, 150 x 220, 180 x 220, 200 x 200 and 200 x 230cm. The 200 x 200cm cover fits a standard UK double duvet; the other sizes follow European duvet sizes, so match them to your duvet's measurements.
Our Ruffled Linen Bedding Sets (a duvet cover and two pillowcases) are sized for UK duvets: 135 x 200cm Single, 200 x 200cm Double, 240 x 220cm King and 260 x 220cm Super King.
Pillowcases
51 x 76cm fits a UK standard pillow, which usually measures around 50 x 75cm. 50 x 70cm suits pillows made to European sizes. Square sizes from 40 x 40cm to 66 x 66cm suit square pillows and cushions, and 30 x 50cm suits a smaller rectangular cushion.
Curtains
Sizes are given as width (W) x drop (H).
- Width: measure the full length of your pole or track. For soft, generous folds, choose curtains whose combined width is one and a half to two times that measurement. For a flatter, more tailored fall, choose closer to the pole width.
- Drop: measure from the top of the pole down to where you want the curtain to end. For a curtain that just clears the floor, take off about 1cm; for one that pools gently, add a few centimetres.
Our Linen Rod Pocket Curtains come in widths of 138cm and 200cm, with drops from 180cm to 305cm. Our Oma Linen Curtains come in widths of 135cm and 230cm, with drops from 163cm to 275cm, in a tab top or tie top style.
Rugs
The right rug ties a room together; one that is too small can make it feel unsettled. Before you choose, mark the size on the floor with masking tape and live with it for a day.
- Living room: choose a rug large enough for at least the front legs of the sofa and chairs to rest on it. 160 x 230cm or 200 x 290cm suits most seating areas.
- Bedroom: lay the rug under the lower two thirds of the bed so it reaches out on either side. 160 x 230cm suits a double bed and 200 x 290cm a king or super king.
- Dining table: allow the rug to reach about 60cm beyond the table on every side, so chairs stay on it when pulled out. Our round rugs come in diameters from 90cm to 210cm.
- Hallways, bedsides and small spaces: 60 x 90cm, 60 x 120cm, 60 x 160cm, 80 x 150cm and 90 x 150cm.
Cushions
Our cushion covers come in 30 x 50, 30 x 60, 45 x 45, 50 x 50, 53 x 53 and 60 x 60cm, and are sold as covers only. Fill each cover with a pad of the same size, or one a little larger for a fuller, softer shape.
